Harlan Records #35 (FCH035)-- the second and final collection of process-intensive creative swamp Divorce Chord's efforts, and maybe my favorite personal musical document. All DC songs were recorded one track at a time through an analog tube pre-amp onto a Loop Station, and occasionally bounced back and forth from a digital 4-track. As each track was finalized, it became unmixable and unchangeable (see notes to the first Divorce Chord release, Harlan #34, for more). Crude methods of live-mixing and manipulation of the space itself became part of the process of making music, and fundamentally altered Mike's and my relationship to sound.
Virtually all of these CDR's were sold or distributed from my tables at indie comic book conventions. Divorce Chord never performed live. We weren't that kind of band.
